Fashgram - The Fashion Society

Jagannath Community College is happy to share the beginning of its Fashion Society "Fashgram". This society would serve as a platform where Models, Designers, Stylists, Photographers can showcase their talents and abilities, to the entire industry and can also interact with the prospective clients to get the best assignments.

Auditions

The Fashion Society of Jagannath Community College, Fashgram in collaboration with India Style Fashion Week conducted model auditions on 22nd February'2023. The audition was judged by CEO of The India Style Fashion Week and India's leading bollywood show director - Kaushik Ghosh along with fashion model Amit Dhankhar. Selected students will get an opportunity to walk the ramp of a National Level Fashion Week as Gen Next Model.

Sur And Saaz

RAAG –The Music Society of JCC organised a musical competition "Sur & Saaz" on 31st January,2023 where students showed their talents in different categories like: solo and duet singing & instrument playing. It gave us immense happiness to see our students singing Classical and Bollywood songs. Some of the students also played different instruments like keyboard & sitar with great expertise. The show was unique and the young talents were applauded and awarded.

RAAG – The Music Society of JCC

Music is part of everyone’s life as it rejuvenates the mind, body and soul. The aim of this music society is to help students to showcase their musical talent by actively engaging them in various concerts & competitions in & outside the campus.

The society comprises of vocalists and instrumentalists etc. Members of this society have performed at various intra college events. Through this society students are motivated to reach the highest level of musical excellence.

ABHIMANCH - the Drama Society of JCC

Drama gives the students an opportunity to understand a range of social issues and encourages them to think and act in all areas of learning as well as life. Keeping this in mind the "ABHIMANCH"- the Drama Society of JCC was formed. “Abhimanch” which means "a contemporary stage"- a stage to address various social issues by understanding the dynamics and nuances of the world around us by understanding the grassroot issues closely. The society provides a platform for budding artists to come forward to express themselves and hone their skills. Team of “Abhimanch” has been actively organizing various competitions and events related to dramatics and acting for the students of JCC.

Cultural Club

The cultural club at JCC, understands that there is a plethora of richness of talent in the youth, and it provides platform and opportunities to flourish their skills. The main objective of the club is to explore and encourage the dynamism of the students. The activities conducted promotes the enhancements of the personal skills, motivates them to work in teams, to experience confidence, self-presentation, time management, open mindedness and acceptability towards different ideas. cultures and personalities. It is an attempt to unleash their hidden talents. The Club emphasize on respect for the rights of others and encouraging moral standards and the dignity of all.

The club has always been keen in celebrating various festivals like Lohri, Holi, Diwali, Krishna Janmashtami, Christmas to name a few. The club has also organized events like Folk Dance Competition, JIMS-JCC Got Talent, Teacher’s Day, Western Dance Competition, Traditional Day, Bollywood Retro Dance Competition, Musical Story Depiction Competition, Prop Dance Competition along with Nail Art, tattoo art, Mehndi Competition & Poster Making Competition and much more.

The club provides a platform to showcase the creativity, along with the fun, quality and artistic renewal of the young minds.

An Interdepartmental Group Dance Competition based on Navratri festival for students on September 29, 2022

Holi ke Tyohar pe, Prashno ki bauchhar

Cultural Club organized "Holi ke Tyohar pe, Prashno ki bauchhar" . A Quiz competition based on Holi festival for students on March 15, 2022. It was an event where everyone gathered to unlock their knowledge about our most colourful festival Holi. The questions were completely related to the Holi festival . The rounds were History, Art and Culture, Entertainment & Mixed Bag.

Infrastructure

The IT Department of JIMS can boast of its state-of-the-art computing resources and network across the campus. JIMS has Central IT Infrastructure Center for IT support. The main objectives of the dedicated Server Room are to provide easily accessible and excellent computational facilities, support to all members of JIMS on all aspects of academic, research and recreational requirements, to implement and maintain  IT Infrastructure and application software, to impart introductory and advanced instructions to users, generate trained manpower to maintain IT Infrastructure (Servers, Desktops, Data Security, Network).

Fully air conditioned, spacious lecture halls equipped with latest audio visual aids such as mounted LCD’d , OHP’s and Smart Board that provide excellent infrastructure backup for academic interaction among faculties and students.

SEMINAR ROOM

High capacity seminar rooms with all latest audio visual aids that provide a good ambience and is available for workshops, seminars and guest lectures.

COMPUTER LABS

The Computer labs under department of IT provide a productive working environment for students enrolled at the college who require computer access for academic and research activities. Our Open Cluster Lab offers a variety of applications from general word processing to various research applications. All computers are configured latest operating systems, applications, and browsers that are networked to printers. Scanners are available for course activities. The labs are also equipped with a variety of Multimedia devices and software to provide support for Multimedia based 3D and Image Processing Projects.

LIBRARY

JIMS library is a veritable storehouse of information with ample text and reference books, national and international periodicals and journals. Well equipped and fully computerized library provides latest research and reference material in print and audio-visual formats along with the facility to refer to e- journals. To cultivate values in students and enhance their skills, the knowledge storehouse has an array of books on computing concepts, codification and networking. The reading room provides a conductive environment for better learning and concentration.

Industrial visits are very important for students undergoing professional education. It provides an insight regarding the inner workings of an organization.
