Jagannath Community College (JCC) is the first of its kind in the system of higher education in India with a focus on creating a highly skilled, employable and talented workforce. As the demand for skill-based education is rising in India, JCC has been established to provide relevant training and skill enhancement to students through its carefully designed course curriculum and holistic pedagogical techniques. The programs are aligned with the current demands of different industries and corporate sector such as Management, Hotel Management, Information Technology, Mass Comunication, Fashion & Interion Design, Diet & Nutrition, English Literature and Psychology. They are modelled to harness valuable human potential and talent of the youth in India. JCC has envisioned creating leaders and innovators by providing academic excellence in diverse fields of professional education with a holistic concern for quality of life, environment, society and ethics.

The pedagogical techniques and methodologies adopted by the faculty members at JCC are in accordance with the larger mission and vision of the organization. Teachers incorporate a state-of-the-art blend of conventional and unconventional teaching strategies to teach, train and mentor students. To making the lectures interactive the teachers focus on class discussions, instead of simply employing the traditional monologue technique, they use creative means such as role-plays, presentations, guest lectures by experts, workshops, industrial visits, and movie screenings to enhance student engagement. Faculty members at JCC are well-trained professionals who are cognizant of the fact that each student learns at a different pace, and therefore hold regular revision classes and doubt clearing sessions to enhance conceptual clarity and understanding. In order to provide the much required practical training, teachers make regular use of on-campus infrastructural facilities such as the restaurant, labs, industry equipment and the library. Instead of simply focusing on completing the syllabus during the lectures, teachers at JCC ensure that students develop a critical outlook towards various theoretical topics and are able to hone numerous practical skills. A special mentorship program is also run during each semester which allows teachers to engage with a few students on a more personal level and help them with both academic and non- academic concerns.

An emphasis is given to a mix of theoretical aspects and practical skills while creating the syllabi for different subjects. It is ensured that the topics included in the curriculum are engaging, relevant, informative and beneficial for the students in the long run, in terms of making them suitable assets for various sectors. Teachers come up with detailed lesson plans for each of the papers to teach these topics as efficiently as possible. They try to augment the understanding of the students by supplementing the lectures with various interesting class activities and discussions.
