Identity Card

The student must carry the JIMS I-card all the time. It can be asked by any staff member of JIMS or by the Invigilator. Failing which, it will be considered that you are not a student of JIMS and strict action will be taken.

In any case no student would be allowed without Identity Card. So, well in advance please make the arrangement of their Duplicate Identity Card if it has been misplaced or stolen. Fee for Duplicate Identity Card is Rs. 100 Students are advised to keep a copy of Duplicate Identity Card Fee Slip with them & entry through slip would be allowed only for 2 days.

Each candidate shall show his I-Card for admission to the Examination Hall on demand.

Admission to the Examination Room

  • Reporting Time is 15 Minutes before the examination :
    (Students Reporting time is 15 Minutes before the examination starts & must be on their seats 5 Minutes before the commencement of the examination. No student will be allowed to wait or revise outside the examination room. On no account student will be allowed to stand before the examination room.)
  • Student should occupy only the seats allotted to them :
    (Candidate should occupy only the seat allotted to them. Unless specially permitted by the Invigilator)
  • No Entry after 15 minutes from the Exam starting time :
    (Students will not be allowed to enter the Examination Room after 15 minutes from the starting time. Traffic Delays, Vehicle Breakdowns, Non Availability of Parking Space, Commuting Distances and Minor illnesses are not the valid excuses to come late.)
  • No Exit before One Hour :
    (First Hour nobody will be permitted to Finish Off the question paper & leave the examination room. When a candidate leaves the Hall, he/she shall on no account, be re-admitted & this matter may be considered as indiscipline which may lead to disqualify the entire semester exams.)

Reasons for not allowing to appear in the Examinations

Due to following reasons students are not allowed to sit in the examination.

  • Late Comings
  • Misbehavior
  • Arguing with the Examiner / Staff Members
  • Any Indiscipline in the College Premises
  • Changes his / her Seat
  • Using Cell Phones
  • Using Unfair Means

Unfair Means

Students using Unfair Means, Misbehavior with the invigilator in the examination will be severely punished and may be expelled from the institute. Students using unfair means during the examination will appear before the UMC Examination Committee and after proper investigation, the committee’s decision will be final.

Student's paper will be cancelled if he/she is found using unfair means (UMC) & will have to deposit Rs.500/- as re-appear examination fee (after approval by the UMC Examination Committee).

Points considered as Unfair Means

  • If candidates mobile phone is found Switch ON during the Exam : The mobile phones will not be permitted in Examination Room. It must be Switched Off in case if it’s urgent to be carried with you, otherwise his / her paper will be cancelled. All students please make it clear that even their cell phone should not be in Silent Mode, if found so it will be treated under unfair means. Student may note that during the examination time if any student goes outside the examination room due to any reason (Wash Room, Water or for Identity Card) they are advised to deposit their mobile to the concerned Invigilator & it is student's responsibility to receive it back as soon as he/she comes back. Please make it clear that Invigilator / Institute won't be responsible if he/she forgets to take it back.
  • Any indiscipline in the exam : Any indiscipline in the exam may lead to Immediate Rustication from the college. Any candidate who creates disturbance of any kind during the examination or otherwise, misbehaves in or around the examination hall, or refuses to obey the Invigilator or changes his / her seat with another candidate shall be liable to expulsion from the Examination Hall as well as disqualification, according to the seriousness of the offence. He / she shall also be liable to make good the loss of furniture, etc if any, caused by him / her.
  • Speaking with other candidates: No candidate shall speak without permission in case it is necessary for a candidate to communicate with the Invigilator, he/she should stand & the Invigilator will attend to him / her.
  • Answer Book is not Signed or Stamped : Candidates should make sure that their answer book is duly signed or stamped by the Invigilator, an omission to do so may result in disqualification
  • Anything written on question paper except Roll Number : If anything written on question paper except Roll No. by the student is found then it will lead to cancellation of his / her paper, as it is compulsory to write the Roll No on question paper.
  • Any Written Material : Any Written Material (Paper, Hand Written & Mobile) will lead to cancellation of the paper.
  • Answer Book leaf is Torn Out : No candidate shall tear a leaf out of an answer book. If he / she do so it will be treated as unfair means and his/ her paper will be cancelled.

General Instructions

Before attempting his / her question paper each candidate shall indicate in writing his / her roll no of the exam, the year, the subject and part if any, of the question paper on the answer-book outside only. The candidate shall also indicate the Roll No (in figure only) on the top of the question paper.

No paper except the question paper shall be removed from the Examination hall.

Candidates are advised to bring their own Pen, Scale, Pencils, Drawing Instruments, and Stencils etc with them. They are not allowed to ask for the same from other students.
