fastest growing industry in India and abroad, the hospitality
industry employs over three million people in India and is growing
at an average of over 10%. Impetus to this industry has been
provided by the entrance of international hotel, food and catering
majors, like Marriott, McDonalds, Radisson, Pizza Hut and the like. With the arrival of these international giants hospitality has
become a favored profession thanks to the high salary and
emoluments, exceptional growth opportunities, excellent working
environment, opportunity to work abroad etc. A recent survey by ATEC
marked Hospitality as one of the best possible careers for Indian. Presently hospitality personnel are in
great demand not only In the traditional Hotel and Restaurant
business but also in other industries including Resorts, Airlines,
Contract and Transport Catering,Tourism, Fast Food Operations,
School Meals, Hospitals, Halls of Residence, Shipping and the Armed
Services.

The
programme, widely reputed in both industry and academic circles, has
been designed with the following objectives:

of globalization and thus meet the national need for fresh and
innovative management initiative in the Hospitality and Tourism
Industries.

to generate integrated solutions to business. problems covering a wide
range of operations in the Hospitality and Tourism Industries.

To acquaint students with current developments in the Hospitality and
Tourism Industries with special reference to food and beverages and
their production and service at hotels, restaurants and bars.

Science in Hospitality, Catering and Tourism (BScHT)", will be awarded
by Indian University and the Graduate Diploma in International Business
(GDIB) conferred by JIMS.
