New Delhi | Saturday, Feb 2 2013 – Sports Meet 2K13, which started on January, 31, 2013 concluded on February, 1, 2013 with the felicitation of winners of various sports events during a glittering ceremony marked with much fanfare and motley celebrations at Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences (JIMS), Sector-3,Rohini, New Delhi. The three-day long Annual Sports Meet at JIMS was flagged off by JIMS Vice-Chairman Mr. Deepak Gupta , Director Dr. G.K Goyal and Deputy Director Dr. Gaurav Garg. This year more than 600 students participated in 14 different sports like Cricket T20 Tournament, Marathon, Football, Volley Ball amongst outdoor games and Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis amongst indoor games, to name a few both in the college campus and Picnic Hut, Ashok Vihar . The students from all the four campuses participated in the event. Mr. Deepak Gupta and Dr. Gaurav Garg , while talking to UNI, emphasized on the fact that sports is an indispensable part of education system all over the world at each level of studies. Whereas education kindles the light of knowledge in the mind, the sports help to maintain the physique.

“I believe Sports are also important means of entertainment after long hours of studies and source of renewed energy to the youth. It requires player’s full attention, concentration accompanied by specific skills and techniques”. Dr. Gaurav Garg said to UNI.
